Tornadoes

On Thursday The new Enhanced Fujita scale came in effect. Not a moment to soon. Strong tornadoes were reported in early hours on Friday in Florida. The hardest hit was around Orlando.
Here is a comparison of the two scales.
Old Scale
0 40-72
1 73- 112
2 113-157
3 158-207
4 208-260
5 261-318

New Scale

0 65-85
1 86- 110
2 111-135
3 136-165
4 166-200
5 200+
Now you may be wondering"Why the change?" The reason is that contractors have talk to meteorologist and have decided that it doesn't take as strong a wind to level buildings as the old scale had it so everything got downgraded. So from now on do not refer to a tornado as a F1 but EF1. It really doesn't sound as cool. All well, now you know.
